The Joy of Cats: Patience is Key
I used to cat sit when I lived in NYC and it ended up being such a fulfilling experience. I was in a stressful job at that time, and spending time with kitties helped relieve a lot of that stress. Now that I am settled here in San Diego and my schedule has freed up a bit, I am so excited to get back into cat sitting.
I work as an emergency management coordinator but enjoy cat sitting because I truly love cats so much. Being around them brings me so much joy, and I love learning their individual purrrsonalities. I understand that working with different cats can require a different approach for each individual kitty and am able to adapt to meet their specific needs. Some kitties love high energy, and I make sure to give them that. Others are skittish, similar to my kitty, and I make sure to give them the space they need to feel comfortable.
When I was 6 years old with no understanding of cats, I learned the hard way that you have to let cats come to you. As an adult, I've become a cat whisperer who
understands the importance of having unwavering patience when working with kitties. My New York clients would comment on how happy they were that I was able to get their shy kitties to feel comfortable with me, and that's honestly the best praise I could get!

A Special Place in My Heart
I have been a cat lover for many years and currently have one kitty of my own named Bunny. She is a 7/8ish year old calico rescue (the foster mom wasn't too sure how old she was when I got her). I adopted her in September 2019 back in NYC, and she made the trek over to San Diego with me in 2022. She's a sassy queen but I love every bit of her quirky personality. I would love to adopt more cats, but my partner is allergic and we unfortunately can't foster because of that. So cat sitting is a wonderful opportunity for me to still experience the joy of extra kitty time!
I really cherish the bonds we make with our feline friends as their cat sitters. One of my favorite kitties that I watched back in NYC was adopted by her family as a hospice senior with the goal of giving her a loving and comfortable home for her remaining days. It was difficult knowing that our time was limited, but it made our visits together all the more special. It was a lot of extra work at times trying to encourage her to eat or cleaning up occasional bouts of diarrhea, but I didn’t mind because I knew I was making a difference in her life. I was happy to help her parents give her lots of love and quality care when they had to go out of town. I was devastated when we finally had to say goodbye, but am so grateful I had the opportunity to be a part of her life. I became very attached to her and she will always have a special place in my heart.
Nothing compares to the joy that comes with building long-lasting relationships with cats. They are truly unique and very special animals. I am so excited to get to meet your purrbabies and build unforgettable bonds with them as their cat sitter. I look forward to meeting you and your fur-amily!
