Cat Lover Converting Others to the Meow Side

I have been a cat lover for over 25 years and have been professionally cat sitting for about 10 years, on and off. My husband and I have two; cats Tyler Purrden and Marla Singer (named after the characters in fight club). Marla is shy and timid but loves to cuddle in our laps and Tyler is our outgoing and friendly kitty -- his best friend is our neighbor's dog! We love our fur babies and wish we could have more but due to our living situation we are choosing to hold out till we get a bigger space. For now I am happy to say that I have successfully turned my husband (a former non pet owner) into a crazy cat man!

Caregiver for Cats Big & Small  

I am a zookeeper (officially a Senior Wildlife Care Specialist) for the San Diego Zoo Safari park. I have been a keeper for 8 years and been with the organization for 10 years. My experience as a zookeeper has given me a remarkable amount of practice in reading animals and their behaviors. Cats can vary so much in terms of personality and their behaviors can change in a split second. My general animal sense is very strong and allows me to understand cats boundaries and how to best bond with them.

I soon will be stepping out of my full time job as a zookeeper to chase after my alternative dream of becoming a nurse. Working as a cat sitter with Tabby Manor will allow me to enjoy more time bonding with more kitties while I navigate this career change. I’ve always enjoyed caring for cats and am looking forward to becoming besties with your purrbabies!
