Individualized Care & Respect for Boundaries

One of my favorite qualities about cats is how unique and different every cat is. I love getting to know cats individually. I feel that once you have a rough idea of what their personalities, likes, and dislikes are, cats will warm up to you pretty quickly in my experience, even the shy ones. I also know many cats can be swayed with treats and I find it fun to figure out which snacks are their favorite. One of my cats loves crunchy treats, the other one loves freeze dried treats, and they both of course love Churus.

In addition to individualized care, I believe that all animals should be treated with respect. Cats are very clear about their boundaries and will give you signals to indicate whether they are comfortable with you touching/approaching them or not. I find that simply respecting that is what works best to win over a shy or nervous kitty.

Cat Mom of Two & Feral Foster

I have been a cat lover for as long as I can remember! I have two kitties myself. My first cat Cosmo was a rescue kitten from my hometown in Mexico. My other cat Momo was a stray who just wandered up to my front door. Momo is a special needs cat who has developmental disabilities. He requires a little extra TLC and took longer to adapt to house cat life, but is the sweetest guy and I am grateful he wandered into our lives. They are my babies and the most important thing in the world to me, alongside my rescue dog as well.

I have had pets my entire life and have always been responsible for them. I foster cats for the San Diego Humane Society whenever possible and often take in ferals and stray cats as they are unfortunately very prolific in the South Bay Area. I just recently found 3 neonatal orphaned kittens and took them in for a few days until they were stable enough to travel and be transferred to the Humane Society. Unfortunately my space at home is limited to two cats with the occasional foster, but I love meeting new cats and playing with them. I started pet sitting for friends and family around 2020 and have really enjoyed it, so I am excited to pursue this passion in a more professional environment with Tabby Manor. I can’t wait to meet you and your kitty babies!
